This is probably closer to what you'd want, I assume? When you sent the wiki invite, I was intrigued, because I was curious what you wanted to do about it. So if you have some idea along those lines, let me know. Otherwise, I think an actual blog is the way to do what you seem to want to do. Also, when you post, you'll see a box under the main post entry that says "Labels for this post," which you should fill in with simple labels that the post would fall under. It's to help with searches later.
As you know I'm new to this so why is this better than the wiki I set up. I have no druthers. I'm just starting to use the wiki to try out some stuff in the classroom so I went ahead and did what I did!
ReplyDeleteI don't really care where--I just would really like a space where we can post to each other at least once a week. Have a week by week set up maybe for all of us. It's actually better to set up on a weekly basis--in my experience there always is something to write about weekly somehow the trivial is OK!
How do you know that I like "incarnadine" by the way?
What it takes is a few minutes at the SAME TIME every week to post what’s going on so we all feel informed about what’s happening around the world (literally, children)! It doesn’t matter--boring is good, it’s family and whether it’s the weather in Paris or the Mona Lisa, my cats or going to Beijing, the latest tribulations with your associates or not seeing the inauguration--once a week works really well, but it’s got to be a routine, a habit, on your schedule, y’all.
ReplyDeleteSo I’ll start with this--because I’m pretty proud of myself for my last three weeks on the exercise bike at the school’s gym... So easy to do (routine, right)--Akkiko and I started the first week on Wed., so I only did two days, last week 4 days, this week only three (because today is a day off, Friday--Valentine’s day?
So yesterday, I finished with 30 minutes and over 8 miles. It works better because I have so many gauges that help me set big and small goals and break up the monotony a little. It gets tough about halfway through (11-12 minutes) but then after twenty minutes I set various smaller goals that keep me going a little more, a little beyond.
I’m already thinking about Beijing exercise when I go (4 weeks from now); I assume the hotel will have a gym. And then I want to get an exercise bike in Chicago before the summmer--in April I should have a little extra money so Ian, maybe you can start evaluating and keeping your eyes open for a decent stationary bike to buy that we can all use. That’ll have to be after I pay for the car repair--probably best I got that done this past week as they felt they had to replace the tire.
See, I told you boring. Next one I write will probably be about me trying to get myself better on track for better eating. Exciting, huh?
Going into Nagoya today to get a charge for the phone Jeff Genest (the computer teacher, Ian) gave me. He and his wife are off the Qatar next year.... Then maybe off to see the historical postcard exhibit. Have to locate where that is!
Love you all, post your posts!!!!!!
